Job Quest

Job Quest is a game created for 2025 Epic Megajam with the theme, "Here We Go Again".

Job Quest was created by me, David Tveraas, of Occupational Hazard, who happens to not have a Game Dev Job, so donations are appreciated.

Job Quest is a resource management game and hope-to-frustration simulator. You play as David (that's a model of me in the game!), an out-of-work Game Dev who was born to make games but is not being paid to do so. 

Help David Apply to Jobs, Build up his Portfolio, and keep his Morale, Stamina, and Funds above zero. 

Job Quest takes place in David's Apartment. You may point-and-click to move David from station to station.

In the Kitchen, you may do Meal Prep or Chores. In the Gameroom, you may Play Video Games or Read Books. Going Outdoors will allow you to Exercise or treat yourself while Dining Out. 

Most importantly of all, the Office is where you may Apply to Jobs, Update your Portfolio, Interview with a Company (if you Applied enough times), and more!

Getting an Interview is a Gauntlet of questions, and if you get them all right, you have a chance of winning the game based on how good your Portfolio is. 

How much of a Chance? How good is your Portfolio? What are the right Answers? Just like real-life, Actionable Feedback is rare, but I assure you there are clues. 

You may only do 3 actions in a day, as each task will consume a Morning, Afternoon, or Evening. At Night David must Rest in the Bedroom, to start the process all over again the next day. 

Actions can cost Stamina, Morale, or Money. Some actions restore Stamina or Morale.

David also has a limited Savings and no Income. Every 30 Days a Rent of $1,200 is due. 

Run out of Stamina, Morale, or Funds and you will lose the game. 

Job Quest is for Windows-only and requires a Mouse and Keyboard.
